HKT has launched the Star Home Call app, comprising four star features designed to enhance fixed-line service.

Whether using Wi-Fi or mobile data, customers can make high-quality voice and video calls to other users of the app.

HKT's Home Phone or eye customers can also link the app with their home phones to activate a call-blocking function that will help to reduce unwanted junk calls

Home Junk Call Blocking

for designated HKT residential telephone line and eye services customers:

  • The app’s Home Junk Call Blocking function will help to automatically prevent junk calls from disturbing you.

Home Link

for designated HKT Home Phone line and eye services customers:

  • Each HKT Home Phone line number or eye service number can be linked to up to four Star Home Call app users, enabling the user to pick up home calls when away from home.
  • You can use your home phone number to dial out via the mobile app when away from home.
  • Even when abroad, you can use your home phone number to dial any Hong Kong number via the app using Wi-Fi or mobile data, without extra charge.
  • Setting up Home Link is easy and must be completed, in part, on your home phone to ensure maximum security.
  • IDD 0060 customers can make IDD 0060 calls on their mobile device with the app after home link.

HD Video Calling

  • Star Home Call App users can make voice and HD video calls to other users of the same app using Wi-Fi or mobile data.
  • This high-speed function boasts resolutions of up to 720p, plus high-grade voice quality, and is ideal for long-distance conversations.
  • Consists of Call Recording features and supports voice recording for both voice and video calls.

*App users can make video calls with the eye3 Service number after activating the Home Link.

Note: The HD Video Calling feature is applicable to Star Home Call Lite and Star Home Call Pro only.

eFax

  • Simply snap a photo using your phone’s camera and the system will automatically adjust the file and help you send an eFax.
